Simple. Comprehensive. Secure. That's the Med Access Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Designed to improve medical office efficiency and enhance patient care through secure and globally accessible electronic patient records, Med Access is committed to excellence in both product performance and end-user satisfaction.
The EMR is safely and securely accessible from anywhere with an Internet connection.Hospitals, diagnostic services and medical information databases are important components in the Med Access EMR system and a patient entering a hospital can have their Medical Record immediately available and have data updated by the physicians at the hospital. The patient's family physician then has the complete chart as the treatment proceeds. Additionally, all laboratory results and all specialist diagnoses can be added to the patient's file after each visit.
Med Access offers a powerful suite of comprehensive products and solutions which saves time and improves patient health by linking critical life-saving patient information effectively and securely with physicians, hospitals, health care providers, and health regions around the world.
Our system is organized and classified to include these elements of a patient’s chart, and more…
A summary of a patient’s chart is displayed in a design made for efficiency and ease. The chart summary includes:
From this view you can print the Chart Summary or export data to send to healthcare providers you wish to consult with about your patient.
The standard Visit page includes all the required components to chart a patient Visit. Along with the appropriate Subjective, Objective, Assessment and Plan (SOAP) sections, we can customize the Visit page for specific Visit types to meet the individual physician’s requirements.
Predefined Visit templates help build efficiencies and consistency. Select from a range of templates depending on the Visit type, download new templates from Med Access, or create your own by simply adding observation fields.
The physician can chart patient profile items and history, launch diagnostic test requests, consultation requests to specialists and write prescriptions, all from the Visit page.
When multiple service providers are contributing to the same visit, the system keeps an accurate history of each provider’s contribution.
A letter can be generated from any Visit note and sent electronically with automatic copies to referring and family physicians. Both itemized and prose-style information can be included in letters to create a professional and easily-read presentation. In many settings templated letters save time and transcription costs; and using templates never locks you in.
Additional features of interest to specialists include triage and wait list management, customizable calculations, rapid documentation of follow-up visits, user-defined order sets and links to specialized reference material.
The Task Manager is designed to communicate, remind and document the wide range of care events and follow-ups that take place between patient Visits. All Tasks are related to a patient and an owner (person or role) that has the responsibility to complete the Task. Although Tasks can be used for many things, such as tracking investigations, delegating care activities or simply adding notes to the chart, the most powerful use of Tasks may be to prompt and track the implementation of a long-term care plan for a patient.
Task Manager lists Tasks, notes and reminders chronologically and on a priority basis on both the patients chart as well as a Main Menu item of the individual users. Review indicators to track the progress of Tasks and manage your patient’s care and the responsibilities of others more effectively.
From the Medications tab, you can view the patient’s Medication profile, search for and order medications from the Provincial and Federal formularies, as well as print Prescriptions. Prescribing new or renewing existing medications is simple and dynamic.
If you dose and prescribe a medication identically each time, templates eliminate the need for re-entry
Re-order, print or fax prescriptions with a new level of simplicity and efficiency
Labs, Investigations, Consults & Immunizations
Completely integrated with the Task Manager. All inbound results from external providers are alerted to the responsible person in the office for reviewing and managing the results.
Physicians can easily view histories, edit, add results and create new requisitions. Efficiencies like auto-population and pre-defined templates reduce Physician time when ordering and writing new requisitions and letters.
Navigating within the Scheduler is easy. Creating, editing, cancelling or rescheduling appointments is accomplished quickly. By using drop down boxes and links patients can be tracked from check-in to billing. The Scheduler serves as a launch point for physicians and as a worksheet for all users by tracking patient movement within the clinic.
The system offers daily views, weekly views, monthly views and a multi-doctor view, for multi-disciplinary environments.
The Scheduler is robust enough to manage appointments by type, scheduling certain types of visits only on days determined by the doctor, e.g., physicals on Thursday. Physician hours can be set into the system to manage vacations and out-of-office periods more effectively.
Enhance patient care and make effective use of your system by running queries within the Med Access EMR. Queries can be run on age, sex, care plan, prescribed meds, date of last visit, billing codes and much, much more.
